Creativity needs Collaboration and Community
The Lone Genius
Is a Myth
Throughout history, the men and women who invented or created incredible things did so in community.
C.S Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien were part of a group called The Inklings that began meeting in the 1930's. This group of 19 men from Oxford would meet 1-2 times per week for seventeen years. They would share stories, ideas, and challenge one another.
After the unexpected success of the Hobbit, Tolkien got stuck on his follow up work he called “The New Hobbit”. He told Lewis “I don’t know what to do, I think this story is done”. Lewis replied, “No you're not done. The problem is that the Hobbits are only interesting when they are in un-hobbit like situations. Get them out of the Shire”. That was all he had to say.
The greatest work of literature and story in our modern history was soon completed because of a single passing comment from another creative.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED
Make procrastination with pursuing your creativity a thing of the past.
About Me
Music, storytelling and creativity have always been a huge passion in my life. I started leading worship at the age of 12 and it was shortly after that when a mentor asked me what my dream was. I told him that I wanted to impact people through music and the creative arts.
So, I set out on that journey.
Over the past 20 years I've led over 10,000 hours of worship, written hundreds of songs, written and produced four full-length musicals and continue to write and produce songs, musicals, screenplays, and books. I haven't looked back since.
But that's not the whole story.
There has been great pain, fear, setbacks, and insecurity over the years coupled with many breakthroughs.
I know what it feels like to want to press into your creativity but feel overwhelmed with your own weaknesses, insecurity, or loneliness.
After two decades, a ton of prayer, and thousands of hours of trial and error, I have found the pathway forward. I've found the way to overcome these challenges and create with an open heart is by doing so in community with other like minded people.
This is why I created The Legacy Creative Collective.
This collective will encourage you because maybe like me, you've felt alone. Maybe you're confused or struggle with pressing into what you feel impassioned to do or create.
Whether you're a worship leader, an aspiring artist, CEO, or barista—this collective is a place for people in pursuit of fulfilling their dream in God. I hope to walk with you and encourage you as you pursue your creativity.
I believe every person's story is significant and we all have a responsibility to steward the calling God has given us.
So that's me. This Collective is my inner circle, and I hope you will be a part of it. I look forward to sharing more with you soon!
